The HARVEY TOOL 857293 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling in demanding machining environments. With a 3/32-inch (0.0930-inch) cutting diameter and a 3/8-inch length of cut, this tool handles slotting, profiling, and finishing passes where tight tolerances are required. A 42-degree variable helix geometry reduces chatter and harmonics across a range of feed rates and materials, improving surface finish consistency. Three flutes provide a balance between chip evacuation and rigidity at this small diameter. The uncoated carbide substrate is suited for applications where coating interactions with the workpiece material are a concern. This end mill is installed and operated by machinists and CNC programmers in job shop and production environments.
This end mill is intended for use in CNC machining centers and manual mills where small-diameter, high-precision cutting is required. The 1/8-inch shank diameter fits standard collets and tool holders commonly used for miniature and micro-machining work. With a 2-1/2-inch overall length, the tool provides reach for deeper workpiece features while maintaining shank grip. The right-hand cut with right-hand flute configuration is the standard orientation for conventional CNC milling setups. It is not center-cutting, so plunge milling is not a recommended entry method with this tool.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers and manual mills accepting a 1/8-inch shank diameter via standard collet or end mill holder. Not center-cutting; ramp or helical entry strategies should be used for pocketing operations.
Installation and operation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC programmer. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and locked out before inserting or removing the tool from its holder. Seat the shank fully in the collet to the minimum grip depth recommended by the toolholder manufacturer to prevent pullout. Because this tool is not center-cutting, avoid direct axial plunging into solid material.
