With a 1/16 inch (0.0625 inch) cutting diameter and a 1/4 inch length of cut, this tool is built for small-feature work including slots, pockets, and profiling operations on a wide range of materials. The 42-degree variable helix geometry reduces harmonic vibration and chatter during the cut, improving surface finish and extending tool life. Three flutes provide a balance between chip evacuation and rigidity at this diameter. The bright, uncoated finish suits dry cutting and general-purpose machining. Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before changing tooling. Seat the shank to the minimum recommended engagement depth in the collet or toolholder — typically 3 times the shank diameter — and torque the collet nut per the toolholder manufacturer specification. Because this is a non-centercutting end mill, do not use direct axial plunge moves; use ramping or helical interpolation to enter the workpiece.
