The HARVEY TOOL 857262-C8 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling in demanding machining environments. With a 1/16 inch (0.0625 inch) cutting diameter and a 1/4 inch length of cut, this end mill is built for tight-tolerance work in small-feature applications. The 42-degree variable helix geometry reduces chatter and improves chip evacuation during cutting. A titanium diboride (TiB2) coating provides surface hardness and lubricity, extending tool life in abrasive materials. This tool is installed and operated by machinists and CNC operators working in job shops, aerospace, medical device, and precision manufacturing environments.
This end mill is suited for small-diameter slot milling, profiling, and finishing passes where dimensional accuracy is critical. The 3-flute configuration balances chip clearance with tool rigidity at this diameter range. The 1/8 inch shank diameter fits standard collets and tool holders commonly found on CNC machining centers and high-speed spindles. The non-centercutting design means it is intended for side milling and peripheral cuts rather than direct plunge entry. Right-hand cut and right-hand flute direction are standard for conventional CNC setups.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers and high-speed spindles accepting a 1/8 inch shank diameter via standard collet or end mill holder. Non-centercutting geometry; not intended for direct plunge operations.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. The tool should be secured in a properly sized collet or end mill holder and torqued to the toolholder manufacturer's specifications before operation. Confirm spindle runout is within acceptable limits before cutting, as runout at this diameter can significantly affect tool life and part accuracy. Always power down and lock out the machine spindle before changing tooling.
