The HARVEY TOOL 854162-C3 is a miniature solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling in demanding materials including steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and non-ferrous metals. It features a 0.062 inch mill diameter with a 0.010 inch corner radius and a 3-flute, right-hand helical design that supports both roughing and finishing operations in a single tool. The AlTiN PVD coating provides thermal resistance and extended tool life when cutting ferrous and composite workpieces. At 1.5 inches overall length with a 0.125 inch straight-cylindrical shank, this stub-series end mill is built for tight-tolerance work in confined pockets and shallow cavities.
This end mill is suited for CNC machining centers and toolholders handling miniature and micro-scale milling operations. The stub and standard series designation makes it appropriate for shallow-depth cuts where rigidity and runout control are critical. Typical applications include precision mold work, die machining, and component finishing in aerospace, medical device, and general metalworking shops. The centercutting geometry allows plunge entry, adding flexibility in toolpath programming.
Compatible with standard toolholders accepting a 0.125 inch straight-cylindrical shank. Designed for use in CNC machining centers performing miniature corner radius milling in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, and composite materials.
Installation and operation should be performed by qualified machinists or CNC programmers familiar with miniature tooling. Ensure the toolholder collet or chuck is clean and within runout specification before seating the shank, as radial runout at miniature diameters can significantly reduce tool life. Confirm spindle speed, feed rate, and depth of cut are appropriate for the 0.062 inch diameter before beginning the cut. Do not exceed the 0.090 inch length of cut in a single pass without verifying deflection tolerances for this tool diameter.
