The HARVEY TOOL 853310-C6 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance milling in hardened steels, stainless steel, cast iron, and hard alloys up to 55 Rc. It measures 0.1562 inches in diameter with a 0.03 inch corner radius and features 5 flutes with a variable helix geometry that reduces chatter and improves surface finish at aggressive feed rates. An AlTiN (aluminum titanium nitride) PVD coating provides thermal resistance and extended tool life in abrasive materials. The tool is single-end, center-cutting, and runs right-hand flute direction with right-hand cutting. It is installed and operated by machinists and CNC operators working in job shop and production environments.
This end mill is built for steel and hard-material milling applications where edge integrity and dimensional control are critical. The close pitch and variable helix combine roughing and finishing capability in a single tool, making it well suited for profiling, slotting, and contouring in hardened workpieces. The series designation targets steels up to 55 Rc, making it applicable in die and mold work, aerospace component machining, and precision part production. For best results, it is recommended for use with a high-precision toolholder to maintain runout tolerances consistent with the tight mill diameter tolerance of 0.0000 to -0.0020 inches.
Designed for use with high-precision toolholders. Compatible workpiece materials include steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and hard alloys. Rated for hardened steels up to 55 Rc. Part of the HARVEY TOOL End Mills for Hardened Steels - Corner Radius series.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Secure the shank in a high-precision collet or shrink-fit toolholder to minimize runout and protect the tight diameter tolerances. Confirm spindle speed, feed rate, and depth of cut against manufacturer cutting data for the specific workpiece hardness before running. This tool does not support coolant-through delivery; direct external coolant or air blast to the cutting zone as required by the operation.
