The HARVEY TOOL 846162-C3 is a miniature square end mill designed for precision material removal in demanding machining applications. Built from solid carbide with an AlTiN coating, this single-end tool measures 0.0625 inches in cutting diameter with a 0.186-inch length of cut and a 2-inch overall length. The 4-flute, right-hand spiral configuration with a 30-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and stable cutting at high speeds. Centercutting capability allows the tool to plunge directly into workpiece material. The extended reach design, with a 0.625-inch reach length and a 0.125-inch shank diameter, makes it well-suited for work in tight or deep pockets where standard-reach tools cannot access.
This end mill is appropriate for machining steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum and non-ferrous materials, and CFRP composite materials. It fits into the miniature long-reach, standard-flute series and is intended for use in CNC machining centers, vertical mills, and precision manual machines where small-diameter tooling is required. Machinists in aerospace, medical device, mold and die, and precision parts manufacturing commonly use tools of this type for fine-detail and small-feature work.
Designed as an OEM-style miniature square end mill for use in standard 1/8-inch collets or matching toolholders on CNC machining centers and precision mills. Compatible workpiece materials include steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum and non-ferrous alloys, and CFRP materials.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following the machine tool manufacturer guidelines for small-diameter carbide tooling. Ensure the collet or toolholder is clean and free of debris before seating the shank to prevent runout. Carbide tooling is brittle and should not be subjected to excessive lateral force or improper feed rates during setup. Verify spindle speed and feed parameters are appropriate for the workpiece material and tool diameter before initiating a cut.
