The HARVEY TOOL 845562-C3 is a miniature solid carbide ball end mill designed for high-precision finishing operations in hard materials, steel, stainless steel, and cast iron. The cutter measures 0.062 inches in diameter with a 0.5-inch length of cut and a 2.5-inch overall length, making it well suited for deep-reach profiling in tight geometries. An AlTiN PVD coating provides thermal resistance and extended tool life in demanding cutting environments. The variable helix geometry reduces harmonics during cut, improving surface finish and chip evacuation. This tool is single-end, right-hand cut, and right-hand flute with a straight-cylindrical 0.125-inch shank.
This end mill fits applications where small-diameter, long-reach access is required - including die and mold finishing, aerospace component profiling, and precision prototype machining. The extra-long flute configuration allows the tool to reach into deep pockets and contoured surfaces that standard-length end mills cannot access. It is intended for use in CNC machining centers and high-speed spindles where runout control and rigid workholding are maintained. Machinists working with hardened steels, stainless alloys, and cast iron will find this geometry appropriate for finishing passes rather than aggressive material removal.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers and high-speed milling spindles accepting a 0.125-inch straight-cylindrical shank. Rated for primary use in hard materials and secondary use in steel, stainless steel, and cast iron per manufacturer workpiece material classifications P, M, and K.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Secure the shank in a precision collet or end mill holder that meets the shank diameter tolerance spec of h6 to minimize runout. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the control is in a safe state before tool changes. At this diameter, avoid side-loading or interrupted cuts beyond what finishing parameters allow, as miniature carbide tools are brittle under shock loading.
