The HARVEY TOOL 839245-C3 is a solid carbide chamfer mill designed for precision chamfering, deburring, and edge-breaking operations on a wide range of workpiece materials. With a 1/2 inch cutter head diameter and 6 flutes, this tool delivers smooth, consistent cuts with reduced chatter. The AlTiN coating provides elevated heat resistance and extended tool life in demanding cutting environments. The single-end configuration and right-hand cutting direction make it a straightforward drop-in for standard CNC machining center setups. Machinists and tool and die professionals working with ferrous and non-ferrous materials rely on this geometry for controlled, repeatable chamfer profiles at production feed rates.
This chamfer mill is suited for use in CNC machining centers and manual mills where a 90-degree included angle chamfer is required. Typical applications include part edge preparation before threading or assembly, weld prep, and cosmetic deburring on precision components. The 1/2 inch shank diameter is compatible with standard ER collets and end mill holders commonly found in job shops and production machining environments. At 3 inches overall length, it provides adequate clearance for most standard setups without sacrificing rigidity.
Designed for use with standard 1/2 inch end mill holders, ER collet chucks, and milling machine spindles accepting a 1/2 inch shank. Suitable for chamfering operations on steel, aluminum, stainless, and similar machinable materials in CNC or manual milling applications.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following the machine tool manufacturer guidelines. Ensure the spindle is fully powered down and locked out before installing or removing the tool from the holder. Verify runout with a dial indicator after seating the shank in the collet or holder before beginning a cut. Do not exceed the tool manufacturer recommended speeds and feeds for the workpiece material and coating type.
