The HARVEY TOOL 836378 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling operations in metal, composites, and plastics. It features a 5/64 inch (0.0780 inch) mill diameter with a 15/64 inch (0.234 inch) length of cut and a 30-degree helix angle. The three-flute geometry balances chip evacuation with wall finish quality, making it well suited for slotting, profiling, and plunge cutting in tight-tolerance work. The bright, uncoated finish is standard for applications where coating interaction with the workpiece material is a concern. Licensed machinists and CNC operators are the primary installers of this tooling.
This end mill fits applications requiring a small-diameter cutting tool with a 1/8 inch shank for use in CNC machining centers, manual mills, and high-speed spindles. The 1-1/2 inch overall length keeps deflection low during aggressive cuts. Its center-cutting capability allows direct plunge entry into the workpiece without a pre-drilled pilot hole. It is commonly used in prototype shops, tool rooms, and production environments where fine feature detail and close tolerances are required on small components.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers and manual mills with a 1/8 inch collet or end mill holder. Compatible with standard ER collet systems sized for 1/8 inch shank tooling.
Installation is performed by a machinist or CNC operator. Power down and lock out the spindle before loading or unloading the tool. Seat the shank fully in the collet or holder to the recommended gauge length before tightening to prevent runout and tool pull-out. Verify spindle speed and feed rate are appropriate for the workpiece material and tool diameter before initiating a cut.
