The HARVEY TOOL 836315-C3 is a miniature square end mill designed for precision machining in tight-tolerance applications. Built from solid carbide with an AlTiN coating, this single-end tool runs at 1/64 inch (0.0156 inch) cutting diameter with a 0.045 inch length of cut and a 1/8 inch shank diameter. The 3-flute geometry and 30-degree right-hand helix promote chip evacuation and surface finish in ferrous and hardened materials. Overall length is 1.5 inches, keeping the tool rigid at this diameter. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals select this end mill for micro-milling operations where both precision and tool life are critical.
This end mill is suited for precision milling on CNC machining centers handling small-feature work in steel, stainless steel, titanium, and other hard alloys. The AlTiN coating improves heat resistance, making the tool appropriate for dry or minimal-lubrication cutting conditions. The 1/8 inch shank allows it to seat in standard collets and shrink-fit holders common on vertical and horizontal machining centers. Typical applications include mold and die detail work, medical component machining, and aerospace part features requiring very small cutter engagement.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard solid carbide square end mill suitable for CNC machining centers and manual mills equipped with 1/8 inch collet or tool-holder systems.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist with the spindle fully stopped and machine placed in an e-stop or lockout state per applicable shop safety procedures. Seat the 1/8 inch shank fully and evenly in the collet or holder and torque to the holder manufacturer specification. At 1/64 inch diameter, avoid excessive runout in the tool holder, as even minor misalignment will increase the risk of tool breakage. Confirm spindle speed and feed rates are set for the material and coating before engaging the cut.
