The HARVEY TOOL 834162-C3 is a miniature square end mill designed for precision milling in tight tolerances and small-feature work. Built from solid carbide with an AlTiN coating, it delivers hardness and heat resistance suited for cutting steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum, non-ferrous alloys, and carbon fiber reinforced polymer (CFRP) materials. The tool measures 0.0625 inches in cutting diameter with a 5/16-inch length of cut and a 2.5-inch overall length. Four spiral flutes and a 30-degree helix angle combine to produce clean chip evacuation and stable cutting performance at reduced diameters. Licensed machinists and CNC operators install this tool in machining centers and mill setups requiring miniature end mill geometry.
This end mill is suited for detailed contouring, slotting, and profiling operations where small cutter diameters are required. Its centercutting capability allows direct plunge entry into workpiece material. The long-flute design within the miniature series supports applications where added reach is needed without stepping up to a larger shank. Primary workpiece materials include steel (P), stainless steel (M), cast iron (K), aluminum and non-ferrous materials (N), and CFRP materials (C). The 1/8-inch shank diameter is compatible with standard collets and end mill holders used in CNC and manual milling setups.
Designed as an OEM-style miniature square end mill compatible with standard 1/8-inch collets and end mill holders in CNC machining centers and manual milling machines. Suitable for use on steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum and non-ferrous materials, and CFRP materials per ISO material codes P, M, K, N, and C.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC setup technicians. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is powered down or placed in an e-stop state before changing tooling. Seat the 1/8-inch shank fully and evenly in the collet or end mill holder and torque the retention nut per the toolholder manufacturer specifications. At small diameters, runout control is critical — verify tool runout with a dial indicator before beginning a production cut to avoid premature tool breakage.
