The HARVEY TOOL 834140-C3 is a miniature solid carbide square end mill designed for precision material removal in tight-tolerance machining applications. With a 0.04-inch cutting diameter and a 13/64-inch (0.203-inch) length of cut, this long-flute end mill handles fine detail work where standard-reach tools cannot reach. The AlTiN coating provides thermal resistance and hardness, making it well-suited for dry or semi-dry cutting in demanding materials. Four spiral flutes with a 30-degree helix angle promote efficient chip evacuation and a smooth finish. Right-hand cut and right-hand flute geometry are standard for conventional CNC milling setups. Centercutting geometry allows direct plunge entry. The 1/8-inch shank and 2.5-inch overall length fit common ER and precision collet systems.
This end mill is rated for use in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum and non-ferrous materials, and CFRP composites. It belongs to the Harvey Tool Miniature End Mills - Square - Long Flute series, intended for high-precision work in aerospace, medical, mold and die, and electronics machining where small-diameter, long-reach tooling is required. It is a single-end tool with no chipbreaker and no coolant-through capability, best suited for light radial cuts at elevated spindle speeds typical of miniature toolpaths.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers and high-speed spindles accepting a 1/8-inch shank via ER collet, precision collet chuck, or equivalent toolholding system. Rated for steel (P), stainless steel (M), cast iron (K), aluminum and non-ferrous (N), and CFRP materials (C) per ISO material classification codes provided by the manufacturer.
Installation and tool changes must be performed with the machine spindle fully stopped and the control in an e-stop or tool-change state. Seat the 1/8-inch shank fully and evenly in a clean, undamaged collet to minimize runout, which is critical at this diameter. At 0.04 inches, deflection and runout tolerances are extremely tight - inspect collet condition and holder concentricity before use. Speeds, feeds, and depth-of-cut parameters should be set per the manufacturer's published miniature end mill guidelines for the specific workpiece material.
