The HARVEY TOOL 823031-C3 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling in demanding machining environments. With a 1/32 inch (0.031 inch) cutting diameter and a 0.046 inch length of cut, this tool is built for fine-detail work where tight tolerances and small features are required. The three-flute geometry balances chip evacuation with surface finish quality. An AlTiN coating extends tool life in hard and abrasive materials by improving heat resistance and reducing friction at the cutting edge. Overall length is 1.5 inches with a 1/8 inch shank diameter, making it compatible with standard collet toolholding systems.
This end mill is suited for milling small slots, pockets, and contours in ferrous metals, hardened steels, stainless steels, and high-temperature alloys. The right-hand cutting and right-hand flute direction make it a standard configuration for CNC vertical machining centers and manual mills. The centercutting capability allows plunge entry as well as peripheral cutting. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals working in aerospace, medical device, and precision mold applications will find this tool well-matched to small-feature, tight-tolerance work.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement or new-install end mill for CNC machining centers and manual mills equipped with 1/8 inch collets or ER-style collet chucks accepting a 1/8 inch shank.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is powered down or in an E-stop state before changing tooling. Secure the shank in a clean, properly sized collet to the torque specification listed by the toolholder manufacturer — do not use a worn or oversized collet. Inspect the cutting edges for chips or coating damage before each use, particularly at this small diameter where deflection and breakage risk increases with improper feeds and speeds.
