The HARVEY TOOL 803832 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for high-performance milling in demanding materials. With a 0.5 inch cutter diameter and a 1.5 inch length of cut, it delivers precise square-shoulder and slot milling. The CVD diamond coating provides exceptional hardness and wear resistance, making this tool well-suited for machining abrasive non-ferrous materials such as graphite, carbon fiber, and reinforced composites. It features 5 flutes for improved chip evacuation and finish quality. A 20-degree helix angle and right-hand cutting direction are standard. This tool is installed and operated by CNC machinists and toolroom professionals in precision manufacturing environments.
This end mill is used in vertical and horizontal milling centers for slotting, profiling, and pocketing operations. The single-end configuration and 4 inch overall length make it compatible with standard CNC spindle setups. It is best applied in high-speed, dry or near-dry cutting of abrasive workpiece materials where conventional coatings fail prematurely. The 0.5 inch shank diameter fits common collet and end mill holder systems used across production and job-shop machining applications.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement for standard 1/2 inch shank end mill holders, collet chucks, and shrink-fit holders used in CNC machining centers. Confirm holder bore tolerance and runout specifications before installation.
Installation should be performed by qualified CNC machinists or toolroom technicians. Ensure the spindle is fully powered down and the machine is in a safe, locked state before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully into the holder and torque the retention mechanism per the holder manufacturer's specifications. Verify tool runout with a dial indicator before beginning cutting operations, as excessive runout will reduce tool life significantly with CVD-coated carbide.
