The HARVEY TOOL 803762 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling in demanding applications. With a 1/16 inch (0.0625 inch) cutter diameter and a 0.186 inch length of cut, this tool is built for tight-tolerance work where tool rigidity and edge retention are critical. The CVD diamond coating delivers exceptional hardness and wear resistance, making it well suited for machining abrasive nonferrous materials such as graphite, carbon fiber, ceramics, and reinforced composites. Three flutes provide a balance of chip evacuation and cutting edge strength at this small diameter. Installed by machinists and tool-and-die professionals, this end mill fits standard CNC machining centers and manual mills with appropriate collet systems.
This end mill is used in precision machining environments where small-diameter tooling is required. The 1/8 inch shank diameter allows it to seat in standard collets and tool holders common to both vertical and horizontal machining centers. The CVD diamond coating makes it particularly effective when cutting highly abrasive workpiece materials that would rapidly wear uncoated or PVD-coated carbide. It is a single-end tool with right-hand cutting direction and a 20-degree helix angle. Typical applications include finish milling of slots, pockets, and contours in composite panels, printed circuit board materials, and advanced ceramics.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers and manual mills equipped with standard collet or end mill holders accepting a 1/8 inch shank diameter. Best suited for machining graphite, carbon fiber, composites, ceramics, and other highly abrasive nonferrous materials.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist familiar with small-diameter carbide tooling. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is powered down before changing tooling. Use a properly sized collet or end mill holder to achieve full shank engagement and minimize runout, which is critical at this diameter to prevent tool breakage. CVD diamond-coated tools should not be used on ferrous materials, as the coating reacts adversely with iron-based workpieces.
