The HARVEY TOOL 803140 is a solid carbide ball end mill designed for precision milling in tight-tolerance applications. With a 0.0400-inch cutting diameter, 4-flute geometry, and a 30-degree helix angle, this tool delivers both roughing and finishing capability in a single pass. The stub flute design paired with an extended long-reach configuration — 2.5 inches overall length with a 0.1250-inch straight-cylindrical shank — makes it well suited for deep-reach work in confined pockets and contoured surfaces. A licensed machinist or CNC tooling professional installs and qualifies this tool in a precision collet or end mill holder.
This end mill is intended for use on steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and non-ferrous metals, covering ISO material codes P, M, K, and N. Its miniature footprint and long-reach stub-flute configuration make it a strong fit for CNC milling centers running detailed 3D contour work, die and mold finishing, and micro-feature machining where tool clearance in deep cavities is a priority. Single-end construction keeps the tool simple and consistent for high-repeatability production runs.
Designed as an OEM-style miniature ball end mill for CNC machining centers and manual mills equipped with 1/8-inch collet or end mill holder tooling. Compatible primary workpiece materials include steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and non-ferrous metals.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician. Secure the 0.1250-inch straight-cylindrical shank in a precision collet or shrink-fit holder rated for the intended spindle speed and runout tolerance — miniature-diameter tools are particularly sensitive to runout, which can cause premature breakage. Confirm tool projection and reach clearance before initiating the program. Never exceed the manufacturer-recommended feed and speed parameters for the workpiece material and depth of cut.
