The HARVEY TOOL 802115 is a solid carbide tapered ball end mill designed for precision machining of small-diameter features in hardened and difficult-to-cut materials. It carries a 20-degree taper angle per side with a 1/64-inch small end diameter (0.0150 inches) and a 5/64-inch length of cut (0.0780 inches). The ball nose geometry produces a 0.0150-inch nose radius, making it well suited for detailed contour milling, core and cavity work, and tight-radius pocket finishing. Machinists and toolroom operators select this end mill when fine detail and taper-wall accuracy are required at miniature scale. The uncoated bright finish is compatible with a wide range of workpiece materials.
This end mill belongs to the Harvey Tool Miniature End Mills - Tapered - Ball series, which targets small-scale precision applications in mold and die, aerospace components, and medical device machining. The 1/8-inch shank diameter fits standard collets and shrink-fit holders on CNC machining centers and high-speed spindle setups. The 3-flute configuration balances chip evacuation with rigidity at this miniature diameter. Overall length is 1-1/2 inches, giving enough clearance for most shallow cavity approaches while limiting deflection during light finishing passes.

Installation and tool changes must be performed with the machine spindle fully stopped and the control in a safe state. Use a precision collet or shrink-fit holder sized to the 1/8-inch shank to minimize runout; excessive runout at this diameter accelerates edge wear and increases breakage risk. Set cutting parameters conservatively on initial passes, as miniature carbide end mills are sensitive to deflection and vibration. Tool path programming should account for the taper geometry to achieve accurate wall angles.
