The HARVEY TOOL 801562-C3 is a miniature solid carbide ball end mill designed for high-precision finishing operations in hard materials, steel, stainless steel, and cast iron. The tool features a 0.062-inch cutting diameter with a 0.031-inch nose radius, four flutes arranged in a variable helix configuration, and a Physical Vapor Deposition (PVD) AlTiN coating that extends tool life in abrasive and high-temperature cutting environments. With a 0.25-inch length of cut and a 2.5-inch overall length, this single-end mill suits tight-tolerance finish passes where tool rigidity and surface finish quality are critical.
This end mill is intended for use in CNC machining centers and high-speed milling applications where small-diameter, close-tolerance work is required. It is well suited for die and mold work, aerospace components, medical device features, and any finishing pass in hard or ferrous workpiece materials. The straight-cylindrical shank diameter of 0.125 inches fits standard collet toolholders commonly used in precision vertical and horizontal machining setups. Right-hand cutting and right-hand flute direction are standard for conventional CNC spindle rotation.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers with standard collet toolholders accepting a 0.125-inch straight-cylindrical shank. Rated for primary use in hard materials and secondary use in steel, stainless steel, and cast iron per material codes H, P, M, and K.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician familiar with CNC toolholder setup and runout requirements. Ensure the collet and toolholder are clean and free of debris before seating the shank to maintain concentricity. Confirm spindle direction is set to right-hand rotation before initiating a cut. At 0.062-inch diameter, this tool is sensitive to excessive overhang and improper collet seating, both of which can result in tool breakage.
