The HARVEY TOOL 801331 is a miniature solid carbide ball end mill designed for precision milling in tight geometries and hard-to-reach areas. It features a 1/32 inch (0.0310 inch) cutting diameter and a 3/64 inch (0.0470 inch) length of cut, with a 30-degree helix angle that supports both roughing and finishing operations. The bright, uncoated carbide construction provides consistent edge sharpness across steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and aluminum. With a 1/4 inch reach length and extended neck, this tool is built for long-reach applications where standard end mills cannot access the workpiece. It is installed and operated by machinists and CNC tool room professionals working in precision machining environments.
This end mill is suited for small-feature milling work in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The stub flute design limits the cutting zone to the immediate tip, reducing deflection in deep-cavity and contour milling scenarios. Common applications include mold and die work, medical component machining, and intricate part features requiring accurate ball-nose profiling. The straight-cylindrical 1/8 inch shank is compatible with standard collet systems found on CNC machining centers and high-speed spindles. The single-end, right-hand cutting configuration is the standard orientation for most CNC programming setups.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers and high-speed spindle systems fitted with standard collet toolholders accepting a 1/8 inch straight-cylindrical shank. Suitable for milling steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and aluminum and non-ferrous materials as indicated by material codes P, M, K, and N.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC setup technicians. Secure the shank fully in a precision collet or toolholder and verify runout before cutting to protect the small-diameter geometry from premature breakage. Power down and lock out the spindle before changing tooling. Coolant-through is not supported on this tool, so confirm that external coolant or mist delivery is configured appropriately for the workpiece material.
