The HARVEY TOOL 799812 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for high-performance milling in abrasive and nonferrous materials. With a 3/16-inch cutting diameter, 4 flutes, and a CVD diamond coating, this tool delivers exceptional wear resistance and surface finish quality in applications where uncoated carbide would degrade quickly. The 30-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. It is a single-end, right-hand cutting tool suitable for use on CNC machining centers and manual mills operated by machinists and tooling professionals working in production or job-shop environments.
This end mill is well suited for milling graphite, carbon fiber, fiberglass, reinforced plastics, and other highly abrasive composite materials where CVD diamond coatings provide significant tool life advantages over standard coatings. The 3/16-inch shank diameter matches the cutting diameter, allowing direct chuck or collet holding without adapters in most standard setups. With a 0.57-inch length of cut and 2-inch overall length, it fits standard toolholding arrangements for light to moderate depth-of-cut passes on small-feature workpieces.
Designed as an OEM-style solid carbide square end mill for use in CNC machining centers and manual mills with standard collet or end mill holders accepting a 3/16-inch shank diameter.
Installation is performed by machinists or tooling technicians. Secure the 3/16-inch shank in a properly sized collet or end mill holder, ensuring adequate engagement depth per the toolholder manufacturer's guidelines. Power down and lock out the spindle before tool changes. Verify spindle speed and feed rate settings are appropriate for the workpiece material and coating type before engaging the cut; CVD diamond-coated tools require specific operating parameters for composite and abrasive materials to avoid coating damage.
