The HARVEY TOOL 784932-C3 is a 5-flute solid carbide chamfer mill designed for precision chamfering, deburring, and edge-breaking operations on ferrous and non-ferrous workpieces. Built from solid carbide throughout, the cutter delivers rigidity and wear resistance that high-speed steel tools cannot match at elevated feeds and speeds. The AlTiN coating adds thermal protection and reduces friction, extending tool life in hardened steels and high-temperature alloys. At 3 inches overall length with a 1/2-inch shank diameter, this tool fits standard ER and side-lock toolholders common in CNC machining centers. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals are the primary installers and operators of this cutter.
This chamfer mill is suited for CNC milling applications requiring consistent edge preparation across production runs. The 1/2-inch cutter head diameter and 0.245-inch length of cut make it appropriate for chamfering holes, contour edges, and part perimeters in both prototype and production environments. The right-hand cutting direction is compatible with standard spindle rotation on vertical and horizontal machining centers. It is well-matched to shops working in steel, stainless, titanium, and cast iron where an AlTiN-coated carbide tool is the standard specification.
Designed as an OEM-specification solid carbide chamfer mill for use in CNC machining centers and manual mills equipped with standard 1/2-inch toolholding.
Installation and operation of this tool should be performed by a qualified machinist familiar with CNC toolsetting procedures. Secure the 1/2-inch shank in a properly sized collet or toolholder and verify runout before cutting. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe state before loading or unloading the cutter. Follow the tool manufacturer and machine builder guidelines for speeds, feeds, and depth of cut appropriate to the workpiece material and setup.
