The HARVEY TOOL 778378-C6 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling in demanding machining applications. With a 5/64-inch (0.078 inch) mill diameter and five flutes, this tool delivers smooth material removal and improved chip evacuation compared to standard four-flute designs. The AlTiN Nano coating provides elevated heat resistance and surface hardness, extending tool life in difficult-to-machine materials. A variable helix angle reduces harmonic vibration and chatter, contributing to better finish quality and dimensional accuracy. This end mill is suited for machinists and tooling professionals working in CNC milling environments where tight tolerances are required.
This end mill is intended for use in CNC machining centers and manual mills where small-diameter, high-precision cutting is required. The 5/64-inch diameter and 0.475-inch length of cut make it well suited for finishing passes, slot milling, and detail work in ferrous and non-ferrous materials, as well as hardened steels where the AlTiN Nano coating provides thermal protection. The 1/8-inch shank diameter is compatible with standard small-bore collets and tool holders. Right-hand cutting and right-hand flute direction are standard configurations for conventional CNC setups.
Designed for use with standard 1/8-inch collets and small-bore tool holders in CNC machining centers and manual milling machines. Compatible with applications requiring an end mill in the 0.3000 to 0.5000 inch length-of-cut range.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and machine is powered down before changing tooling. Secure the 1/8-inch shank in a clean, properly sized collet or tool holder to the manufacturer-specified clamping method — contamination or improper seating will reduce runout performance and shorten tool life. Note that this end mill is not centercutting and should not be used for direct plunge operations.
