The HARVEY TOOL 77016 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling operations in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. It features a 0.25-inch cutting diameter, a 1.5-inch length of cut, and a 4-inch overall length with a 0.25-inch shank diameter. The four-flute geometry with a 30-degree helix angle provides an efficient balance of chip evacuation and surface finish. An amorphous diamond coating is applied to the flute and cutting edge surfaces to extend tool life in abrasive and high-wear applications. This end mill is centercutting, allowing plunge entry. It is sold as a single unit and is a direct-order replacement-grade tool intended for machining professionals.
This end mill is suited for finish milling, slotting, profiling, and light pocketing operations on CNC machining centers and manual mills. The right-hand cut and right-hand flute direction follow standard toolholder conventions. Its compact 0.25-inch diameter makes it well suited for detailed features, tight corners, and fine contour work on mold, die, and precision component applications. The amorphous diamond coating provides added performance when cutting composites, graphite, and other abrasive workpiece materials.
Designed as an OEM-style solid carbide square end mill replacement compatible with standard 0.25-inch collet chucks, ER collets, and shrink-fit toolholders used on CNC machining centers and manual milling machines.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool changer or spindle lock is engaged before changing tooling. Verify collet runout is within acceptable limits before securing the shank, as excessive runout accelerates edge wear. Consult the machine manufacturer guidelines and applicable shop safety standards when setting speeds and feeds for the workpiece material.
