The HARVEY TOOL 76420-C3 is a square end mill designed for high-precision milling in demanding machining applications. Built from solid carbide, this single-end tool features a 0.5 mm (0.0200 inch) cutting diameter and a 4-flute geometry that promotes efficient chip evacuation and a smooth surface finish. The AlTiN coating provides thermal resistance and extended tool life when cutting hard or abrasive workpiece materials. With a 30-degree helix angle and right-hand cutting and flute direction, this end mill is well suited for aggressive feed rates in difficult-to-machine alloys. It is installed and operated by machinists and CNC programmers working in tool and die, medical device, aerospace, and precision parts manufacturing.
This end mill is intended for micro-milling operations where tight tolerances and small feature geometry are required. The 0.06 inch length of cut and 0.17 inch reach length make it appropriate for shallow slot milling, profiling, and pocketing in confined areas. The 1/8 inch shank diameter allows it to seat in standard collet systems commonly found on CNC machining centers and high-speed spindles. The 1.5 inch overall length provides rigidity while keeping deflection minimal at this small diameter. It is centercutting, allowing plunge entry where required by the toolpath.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers and high-speed spindles equipped with 1/8 inch collet systems. Suitable for milling ferrous and non-ferrous metals, hardened steels, and other abrasive materials where a micro-diameter square end mill with AlTiN coating is specified.
This tool is installed by qualified machinists or CNC setup personnel. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe state before loading or changing tooling. Seat the 1/8 inch shank fully and evenly in the collet to the recommended engagement depth per the collet manufacturer guidelines. At this small diameter, verify runout with a dial indicator before running at full programmed feed and speed to avoid tool breakage.
