The HARVEY TOOL 74530-C3 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance milling in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. It features a 1/2 inch diameter, a 0.03 inch corner radius, and four right-hand helical flutes at a 30-degree helix angle. The AlTiN (aluminum titanium nitride) PVD coating provides thermal resistance and extends tool life in demanding cuts. With a 1 inch length of cut and 3 inch overall length, this single-end tool handles both roughing and finishing operations. It is sized for standard toolholders accepting a 1/2 inch straight-cylindrical shank.
This end mill is suited for shop and production environments where steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, and composite materials are machined. The corner radius geometry reduces edge chipping and stress concentration at the cutting corner, making it appropriate for profiling, slotting, and peripheral milling passes. It fits into the HARVEY TOOL Miniature End Mills - Corner Radius - Stub and Standard series, which covers a broad range of small-to-mid-diameter tooling for precision CNC machining centers and manual mills.
Designed for use with standard CNC or manual milling toolholders accepting a 1/2 inch straight-cylindrical shank. Compatible primary workpiece materials include steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, and composites, per manufacturer specification. Part of the HARVEY TOOL Miniature End Mills - Corner Radius - Stub and Standard series.
Installation is performed by machining professionals or toolroom technicians using a compatible toolholder sized to the 1/2 inch shank diameter. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool is properly torqued in the holder before running. Verify runout with a dial indicator after seating — excessive runout will accelerate wear and reduce corner radius accuracy. Follow the machine manufacturer and cutting tool supplier feed and speed recommendations for the specific workpiece material.
