The HARVEY TOOL 74350-C3 is a miniature solid carbide ball end mill engineered for high-precision milling in steel, stainless steel, and cast iron. It carries a 0.05-inch mill diameter, a 0.15-inch reach length, and a 4-flute helical configuration that supports both roughing and finishing operations in a single tool. The AlTiN (aluminum titanium nitride) PVD coating improves heat resistance and tool life when cutting ferrous alloys. A 30-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation in tight-tolerance applications. This is a single-end tool with a straight-cylindrical shank, intended for use in CNC machining centers and precision milling machines operated by trained machinists and toolroom professionals.
This end mill is sized for miniature and micro-milling applications where tool reach and diameter are tightly constrained. It is suited for die and mold work, aerospace components, medical device features, and other precision part geometries machined in steel and stainless steel. The 1/8-inch shank diameter is compatible with standard collet systems commonly found in vertical machining centers and high-speed spindles. The stub-to-standard reach geometry makes it appropriate for shallow-to-moderate depth cavity work where rigidity is a priority.
Designed for use in CNC milling operations on steel, stainless steel, and cast iron workpiece materials as indicated by primary material codes P, M, and K. The 1/8-inch straight-cylindrical shank is compatible with standard collet systems accepting that shank diameter.
Tooling of this diameter should be installed and adjusted by qualified machinists familiar with CNC setup procedures. Ensure the collet and toolholder are clean and free of chips before seating the shank to full depth. Verify spindle runout is within acceptable tolerance before cutting, as miniature carbide tools are sensitive to deflection and runout-induced breakage. Follow machine manufacturer guidelines and applicable shop safety procedures when setting tool offsets and initiating cuts.
