The HARVEY TOOL 74062 is a solid carbide ball end mill designed for high-precision milling of small features, contours, and three-dimensional profiles. With a 1/16 inch (0.0620 inch) mill diameter and a 0.1860 inch length of cut, this stub-length tool is built for rigidity in tight-tolerance applications. The 30-degree right-hand spiral flute geometry and center-cutting capability support both roughing and finishing passes in a single setup. Intended for use by machinists and tooling professionals in CNC milling operations, the 74062 offers consistent performance in a miniature form factor without sacrificing carbide hardness or edge integrity.
This end mill is suited for milling steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and aluminum as well as other non-ferrous materials. The stub-standard series length keeps deflection low when working in confined pockets or on small part geometries. It is a single-end tool with a straight cylindrical 1/8 inch shank, making it compatible with standard collet and end mill holder systems commonly found on CNC machining centers and small vertical mills. The bright uncoated finish is appropriate for a wide range of base materials where coating is not required.
Designed as an OEM-style miniature ball end mill for use in standard CNC milling setups requiring a 1/8 inch straight shank. Compatible workpiece materials include steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum, and non-ferrous alloys per manufacturer classification codes P, M, K, and N.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist with the spindle fully stopped and machine power locked out per shop safety procedures. Ensure the collet or end mill holder is clean and within runout specification before seating the shank, as excessive runout at miniature diameters accelerates tool wear and breakage. Verify speeds and feeds are appropriate for the 1/16 inch diameter before initiating a cut, as miniature carbide tools are sensitive to excessive feed rates and lateral loading.
