The HARVEY TOOL 73187-C4 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision metal removal in demanding machining applications. This single-end tool features a 3/16 inch mill diameter, a 5/8 inch length of cut, and a 2 inch overall length. The 4-flute geometry and 30-degree helix angle promote efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. An amorphous diamond PVD coating extends tool life when cutting ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The centercutting design allows plunge entry, giving machinists flexibility in programming approach paths. Weighing 0.01 pounds, this miniature end mill is suited for tight-tolerance finish work in production and prototype environments.
This end mill is intended for milling steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum and non-ferrous alloys, and carbon fiber reinforced polymer (CFRP) materials. It fits standard CNC machining centers and manual knee mills with a 3/16 inch collet or toolholder. The stub and standard length geometry keeps deflection low at small diameters, making it a practical choice for slots, pockets, and contours in miniature components. Right-hand cut and right-hand flute orientation are compatible with standard spindle rotation on most machine tools.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard-fitment tool for CNC machining centers and manual mills equipped with a 3/16 inch collet or toolholding system. Primary workpiece material codes P, M, K, N, and C indicate suitability for steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum and non-ferrous, and CFRP materials respectively.
Installation and use should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is powered down before loading or changing tooling. Seat the 3/16 inch shank fully into a matched collet and torque the collet nut to the toolholder manufacturer specification. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning a cut to protect both the tool and the workpiece.
