The HARVEY TOOL 73116 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precise milling operations in metal, composites, and other hard materials. With a 0.116-inch cutting diameter and a 0.348-inch length of cut, this tool handles slotting, profiling, and peripheral milling in tight-tolerance applications. The 4-flute geometry with a 30-degree helix angle balances chip evacuation with surface finish quality. At 1.5 inches overall length and a 0.125-inch shank diameter, it fits standard collet chucks and tool holders used in CNC machining centers and manual mills. It is centercutting, allowing direct plunge entry. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals are the primary users.
This end mill suits precision work on ferrous and non-ferrous metals, plastics, and composites where a small-diameter tool is required. The bright, uncoated finish makes it a straightforward choice for general-purpose cuts where coating compatibility with the workpiece material is a concern or when re-sharpening is anticipated. The right-hand cut and right-hand flute direction are standard for conventional CNC and manual milling setups. Its compact geometry is particularly useful in confined features, narrow slots, and detail work on molds, fixtures, and small machined components.
Designed as a standard small-diameter square end mill compatible with collet chucks and tool holders accepting a 0.125-inch shank diameter, as found on CNC machining centers, knee mills, and similar equipment.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following shop safety procedures. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and locked out before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully in the collet or tool holder to the recommended engagement depth and verify runout before cutting. Follow machine manufacturer guidelines and applicable shop standards for speeds, feeds, and tool clamping torque.
