The HARVEY TOOL 73097-C3 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. With a cutting diameter of 0.097 inches and a 0.291-inch length of cut, this tool is built for tight-tolerance work in die, mold, and production machining environments. The AlTiN coating extends tool life in high-temperature cutting conditions, making it well suited for hardened steels and other abrasive materials. The 4-flute geometry provides a balance of chip evacuation and surface finish quality. It is installed and operated by machinists and CNC programmers working with vertical machining centers or CNC mills.
This end mill is appropriate for finish milling, slotting, and profiling operations in both prototype and production shop environments. The 0.125-inch shank diameter fits standard collets and end mill holders commonly found in job shops and precision machine shops. The 30-degree helix angle promotes smooth cutting action and reduces chatter during light to moderate depth-of-cut passes. The centercutting design allows for plunge milling where required. It is a single-end tool intended for use in right-hand spindle rotation setups.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use solid carbide square end mill for CNC machining centers and manual mills equipped with a collet or end mill holder accepting a 0.125-inch shank diameter.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe state before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully into the collet or tool holder to the recommended minimum engagement depth before tightening. Verify runout with a dial indicator after installation, as excessive runout will significantly shorten tool life and compromise dimensional accuracy on small-diameter end mills.
