The HARVEY TOOL 73090-C3 is a square end mill designed for precision milling in demanding metalworking applications. Constructed from solid carbide with an AlTiN finish, it delivers hardness and heat resistance well suited for high-speed cutting of ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The tool measures 3/32 inch (0.090 inch) in diameter with a 17/64 inch (0.270 inch) length of cut and a 1/8 inch shank diameter. Overall length is 1-1/2 inches. Four flutes with a 30-degree helix angle provide efficient chip evacuation and a smooth finish in tight-tolerance cuts. Right-hand cut and right-hand flute geometry follow standard CNC milling conventions.
This end mill is suited for slot milling, profiling, and plunge cutting in small-bore and detailed workpiece geometries where a compact diameter is required. The centercutting design allows direct plunge entry without pre-drilling. It is typically used in CNC machining centers and manual mills by machinists working in tool and die, aerospace component work, medical device manufacturing, and precision prototype work where tight tolerances and fine surface finish are critical requirements.
Designed as an OEM-style solid carbide square end mill suitable for use in standard CNC machining centers and manual milling machines accepting a 1/8 inch straight shank collet or end mill holder.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following shop safety procedures. Secure the 1/8 inch shank in a properly sized collet or end mill holder and verify runout before beginning a cut. Confirm spindle speed and feed rate are set per the material being machined and the tool manufacturer recommendations for carbide tooling at this diameter. Inspect the cutting edges for chips or wear before each use, as micro-diameter carbide end mills are susceptible to breakage under excessive load or improper setup.
