The HARVEY TOOL 73089 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling operations in metalworking and machining applications. With a 0.089-inch cutting diameter and a 0.267-inch length of cut, this tool is built for tight-tolerance work where dimensional accuracy is critical. The 4-flute geometry and 30-degree helix angle promote efficient chip evacuation and a smooth cutting action. At 1.5 inches overall length with a 1/8-inch shank diameter, it fits standard collets and tool holders common in CNC and manual milling setups. The bright, uncoated finish suits general-purpose use across a range of ferrous and non-ferrous materials. Installation and setup are straightforward for machinists familiar with small-diameter carbide tooling.
This end mill is suited for finish milling, slotting, and profiling operations in precision machining environments. Its small cutting diameter makes it well-matched for fine-detail work, mold and die applications, and component machining where access to narrow features is required. The single-end, right-hand cutting and right-hand flute configuration is standard for conventional CNC vertical milling centers and manual knee mills. It is appropriate for shops running light-to-medium duty cuts in steel, aluminum, brass, and similar materials.
Designed as an OEM-style solid carbide square end mill with a 1/8-inch shank diameter, compatible with standard 1/8-inch collets and tool holders used in CNC machining centers and manual milling machines.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC setup technicians. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the power is isolated before loading or changing tooling. Secure the shank in a clean, properly sized collet or end mill holder torqued to the machine manufacturer specification. Small-diameter carbide end mills are brittle — avoid side-loading or impact during handling, and verify runout with a dial indicator before initiating a cut.
