The HARVEY TOOL 73085-C3 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling in a wide range of materials. With a 0.085-inch cutting diameter and a 0.255-inch length of cut, this tool is built for tight-tolerance work in die and mold applications, prototype machining, and finish milling operations. The AlTiN (aluminum titanium nitride) coating improves heat resistance and extends tool life in ferrous and hardened materials. Four flutes provide a good balance of chip evacuation and surface finish quality. This tool is installed and operated by machinists and CNC programmers working in job shops, production environments, and tool-and-die operations.
This end mill is suited for vertical machining centers, CNC mills, and manual milling machines capable of holding a 0.125-inch shank. The 30-degree helix angle promotes smooth cutting action and efficient chip flow. Its single-end design and compact overall length of 1.5 inches make it appropriate for shallow-to-moderate pocket milling, slotting, and peripheral profiling. The centercutting geometry allows plunge entry without a pre-drilled hole. Typical applications include steel, stainless steel, titanium, and other materials where AlTiN coating performance is an advantage.
Designed to fit any milling machine or machining center with a 0.125-inch collet or tool holder. Verify runout and holder condition before use to maintain dimensional accuracy at this diameter.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe state before inserting or removing the tool. Seat the shank fully in a clean, properly sized collet or end mill holder and tighten to the holder manufacturer's specified procedure. At small diameters, excessive overhang or runout can cause premature breakage; minimize stick-out to the extent the workpiece allows.
