The HARVEY TOOL 73055-C3 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for high-precision milling in demanding machining environments. With a 0.0550-inch cutting diameter and a 0.165-inch length of cut, this tool handles tight-tolerance profiling, slotting, and contouring in small-part applications. The four-flute geometry with a 30-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth surface finishes. An AlTiN coating increases surface hardness and thermal resistance, extending tool life in ferrous and hardened materials. This end mill is used by machinists and tool-and-die professionals in CNC milling operations where small diameters and precise geometry are critical.
This end mill is suited for precision CNC milling of small features in ferrous metals, hardened steels, and similar materials where tool rigidity and coating performance are essential. The 0.125-inch shank diameter fits standard collets and end mill holders commonly found on vertical machining centers and CNC routers. With a 1.5-inch overall length and a non-extended-reach design, it maintains rigidity during light finishing and fine detail passes. Typical users include machinists, mold makers, and precision fabricators working in job shop and production environments.
Designed for use in standard 0.125-inch (1/8-inch) collets and end mill holders on CNC vertical machining centers, CNC routers, and manual mills equipped for small-diameter tooling.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is powered down before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully into the collet or tool holder to the recommended engagement depth and torque the collet nut according to the holder manufacturer specifications. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning a cut, as small-diameter end mills are sensitive to even minor tool holder runout.
