The HARVEY TOOL 72850 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision material removal in ferrous and non-ferrous machining applications. With a 3/8-inch diameter, a 0.05-inch corner radius, and a 1-inch length of cut, this single-end tool is built for both roughing and finishing operations on steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum, composites, and wood. The 4-flute helical design with a 30-degree helix angle promotes chip evacuation and stable cutting. Center-cutting geometry allows plunge entry. The bright, uncoated carbide surface is suitable for a wide range of workpiece materials without a coating-specific heat requirement.
This end mill is part of the Harvey Tool Miniature End Mills - Corner Radius - Stub and Standard series. It is intended for use in CNC machining centers and toolholder setups where a small-diameter, corner-radius tool is required for contouring, slotting, or 3D profiling. Applications span job shops, tool rooms, and production environments handling steel (P), stainless steel (M), cast iron (K), non-ferrous metals (N), and non-ISO (O) material classifications. The straight-cylindrical 3/8-inch shank seats directly into standard collet-style or shrink-fit toolholders.
Designed for use with standard collet, shrink-fit, or hydraulic toolholders accepting a 3/8-inch straight-cylindrical shank. Suitable for steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum, wood, and composite workpieces as specified by the manufacturer.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC setup technicians. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool path program is verified before loading the end mill into the toolholder. Confirm runout at the toolholder before engaging a cut, as excess runout accelerates edge wear on small-diameter carbide tools. Follow the machine tool builder and toolholder manufacturer torque specifications when tightening collet nuts or set screws.
