The HARVEY TOOL 72830-C4 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling in demanding materials including steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum, and composites. The 0.0300 inch corner radius reduces stress concentration at the cutting edge and produces a consistent, controlled radius at the base of milled features. With a 3/8 inch mill diameter, 1 inch length of cut, and a diamond PVD coating, this tool handles both roughing and finishing operations in a single setup. The 4-flute spiral geometry with a 30-degree right-hand helix promotes chip evacuation and surface finish quality.
This end mill is suited for CNC machining centers and manual mills where tight tolerances and edge integrity are required. The single-end, centercutting design allows plunge entry and is well matched to die and mold work, medical component machining, and precision part production in aerospace and general metalworking shops. The diamond coating provides enhanced hardness and lubricity, making it particularly effective in abrasive and non-ferrous materials including wood and composite laminates. The straight cylindrical shank is compatible with standard toolholders.
Part of the HARVEY TOOL Miniature End Mills - Corner Radius - Stub and Standard series. Designed for use with standard straight-bore toolholders accepting a 3/8 inch cylindrical shank. Suitable for steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum, non-ferrous metals, wood, and composite workpiece materials.
Installation is performed by a machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool changer is in a safe state before loading or unloading the tool. Seat the shank fully into the toolholder to the minimum engagement depth recommended by the toolholder manufacturer. Verify runout with a dial indicator before first cut, as excessive runout will accelerate edge wear on carbide tooling.
