The HARVEY TOOL 72820-C3 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling of steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and non-ferrous metals. It carries a 0.5 mm (0.0200 inch) corner radius with a tolerance of +0.0010 to -0.0010 inches, delivering consistent edge geometry on finish and roughing passes alike. The 4-flute, right-hand helical configuration with a 30-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and surface finish quality. An AlTiN PVD coating extends tool life in abrasive and high-temperature cutting conditions. This is a single-end, straight-cylindrical shank tool sized for miniature and close-tolerance machining work performed by machinists and CNC mill operators.
This end mill fits applications in job shops, tool rooms, and production environments where tight-radius blending and corner geometry control are required. Its stub and standard length classification makes it well suited for rigidity-critical setups where reach is limited. It is appropriate for slotting, profiling, and contouring operations in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, composites, and non-ferrous metals. The 3/8 inch diameter and 1 inch length of cut allow access to moderate-depth features while maintaining deflection control. Compatible toolholders include standard 3/8 inch straight-shank collet chucks and end mill holders.
Designed for use with standard 3/8 inch straight-shank toolholders and collet chucks on CNC machining centers and manual mills. Suitable for primary workpiece materials coded P (Steel), M (Stainless Steel), K (Cast Iron), N (Non-Ferrous Metal), and O (Non-ISO) per ISO material classification.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following standard toolholder torque and runout procedures for solid carbide end mills. Verify spindle and toolholder cleanliness before seating the shank to prevent runout-induced chipping. Confirm that cutting parameters - speed, feed, and depth of cut - are appropriate for the workpiece material and machine rigidity before engaging the cut. Do not use this tool beyond its stated length-of-cut depth without evaluating deflection and tool overhang.
