The HARVEY TOOL 72560-C3 is a solid carbide chamfer mill designed for deburring, chamfering, and edge-breaking operations on ferrous and non-ferrous materials. With a 3/8 inch cutter head diameter, 2-flute geometry, and an AlTiN coating, this tool handles high-temperature cutting applications where tool life and edge retention matter. The right-hand cutting direction and 3/8 inch shank diameter make it compatible with standard milling chucks and collet holders. The AlTiN coating provides oxidation resistance at elevated surface temperatures, making it a strong choice for dry or semi-dry machining environments. A machinist or CNC operator would typically use this tool in a vertical machining center or manual mill.
This chamfer mill is suited for shop-floor use on CNC mills, VMCs, and manual knee mills where chamfering, countersinking, and deburring tasks are routine. The dual included angle of 60 degrees and 120 degrees gives it versatility across common chamfer profiles. With a 2.5 inch overall length and a 0.108 inch length of cut, this tool is well-suited for light chamfering work on small workpieces or tight-tolerance parts where controlled material removal is required. It is commonly used in job shops, production environments, and precision machining operations across industries including aerospace, automotive, and general manufacturing.
Designed as an OEM-style solid carbide chamfer mill suitable for use with standard 3/8 inch collet chucks, end mill holders, and milling machine spindles configured for right-hand rotation.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool is secured in an appropriate 3/8 inch collet or end mill holder before use. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning a cut, as excessive runout will accelerate tool wear and compromise chamfer quality. Follow the machine tool manufacturer guidelines and applicable shop safety procedures when setting speeds and feeds for carbide tooling.
