The HARVEY TOOL 72545 is a solid carbide chamfer mill designed for deburring, edge chamfering, and countersinking operations on a wide range of workpiece materials. The cutter measures 3/8 inch in diameter with a matching 3/8 inch shank diameter and an overall length of 2.5 inches. It runs a 2-flute, right-hand cutting configuration and carries a bright/uncoated finish, making it suitable for use with or without cutting fluid. Machinists and toolroom operators use this style of end mill in CNC machining centers and manual mills where clean, consistent chamfers are required on metal, composite, or plastic components.
This chamfer mill fits standard applications in precision machining shops, job shops, and production environments. The 3/8 inch shank seats directly into standard ER collets, end mill holders, or set-screw holders without adapters. With a 0.188 inch length of cut, it handles light chamfering passes efficiently. It is appropriate for ferrous and non-ferrous metals in both prototype and production settings where tool rigidity and edge quality matter.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement for standard 3/8 inch shank chamfer mill applications in CNC machining centers and manual milling machines using ER, set-screw, or hydraulic end mill holders.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following standard tooling change procedures. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe state before changing tooling. Seat the shank to the full recommended engagement depth in the holder and torque the retention mechanism per the holder manufacturer specification. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning the first pass.
