The HARVEY TOOL 72308-C3 is a solid carbide drill mill designed to perform both drilling and milling operations in a single tool. With a 1/8 inch cutting diameter and a 90-degree point angle, it centers and drills on entry before transitioning to side milling without a tool change. The AlTiN coating improves heat resistance and extends tool life in ferrous and hard materials. The 2-flute geometry balances chip evacuation with edge strength at this diameter. This tool is used by machinists and CNC operators in precision machining environments.
The 72308-C3 is suited for multi-operation work in CNC machining centers and manual mills where minimizing tool changes improves cycle time. The 1/2 inch length of cut and 1/8 inch shank diameter make it appropriate for shallow pocket milling, spot drilling, chamfering, and light plunge cuts in steel, stainless, aluminum, and similar materials. Its compact geometry is particularly useful in tight-clearance setups where a longer tool would introduce deflection.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use drill mill compatible with CNC machining centers and manual milling machines equipped with 1/8 inch collet or tool holder systems.
Installation is performed by machinists or CNC setup technicians. Secure the 1/8 inch shank in a matching collet or end mill holder and verify runout before cutting. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe state before changing or measuring the tool. Refer to the machine manufacturer guidelines and applicable shop safety protocols when setting feeds and speeds for the workpiece material.
