The HARVEY TOOL 72262-C8 is a solid carbide drill mill designed for combined drilling and milling operations in a single tool. With a 1/16 inch diameter cutting end and a 90 degree point angle, it handles center drilling, chamfering, and light end milling in one setup. The 2-flute geometry balances chip evacuation with core strength at this small diameter. A titanium diboride (TiB2) coating reduces friction and extends tool life in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. This tool is used primarily by machinists and CNC operators working in precision metalworking, mold and die, and general machining environments.
The 72262-C8 is suited for small-feature work on CNC machining centers and manual mills where a compact, multi-function cutting tool reduces tool changes. The 3/16 inch length of cut allows shallow pocketing and hole prep in tight geometries. The 1/8 inch shank diameter is compatible with standard collet systems commonly found in both vertical and horizontal machining centers. Applications include chamfering, spot drilling, and light profiling in aluminum, steel, and similar materials.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement or new installation for CNC machining centers and manual milling machines equipped with collet systems accepting a 1/8 inch shank diameter.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe state before inserting or removing the tool. Seat the shank fully into the collet and tighten to the collet manufacturer's specification. At this small diameter, avoid excessive runout, as even minor tool deflection can cause breakage.
