The HARVEY TOOL 72060 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling in tight tolerances and small-feature work. With a 0.060-inch cutting diameter and a 0.18-inch length of cut, this tool is built for fine detail passes, slot milling, and contouring in materials where rigidity and edge integrity matter. The 1/8-inch shank diameter keeps the tool compatible with standard collets used across CNC machining centers and manual mills. At 1.5 inches overall length, the compact form reduces deflection during aggressive cuts. Two spiral flutes with a 30-degree helix angle provide efficient chip evacuation while maintaining a strong cutting edge geometry suited for ferrous and non-ferrous materials.
This end mill is intended for use in precision machining environments where small-diameter tooling is required. Typical applications include micro-slot milling, fine contouring, engraving passes, and small-pocket clearing in metals, plastics, and composite materials. The centercutting design allows for direct plunge entry, adding versatility on CNC machining centers where ramping or plunging into a workpiece is part of the toolpath strategy. Right-hand cut and right-hand flute orientation match standard spindle rotation on conventional CNC equipment.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers and manual mills equipped with standard 1/8-inch collets or ER-series collet chucks accepting that shank diameter. Suitable for small-feature milling applications in ferrous metals, non-ferrous metals, plastics, and composite materials.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is powered down before loading or changing tooling. Seat the shank securely in the collet to the recommended minimum grip depth to prevent pullout under cutting loads. Verify spindle speed, feed rate, and depth-of-cut parameters against the manufacturer tooling data before running the first pass, as small-diameter carbide tools are sensitive to excessive radial or axial load.
