The HARVEY TOOL 60324 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling operations in metal, composites, and engineered materials. It features a 3/8-inch cutter diameter with a 3-inch length of cut, giving machinists extended reach for slotting, profiling, and peripheral milling in deeper pockets. The single-end, two-flute configuration with a 20-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation in a range of workpiece materials. At 6 inches overall length and a matching 3/8-inch shank diameter, this tool is suited for CNC machining centers and manual mills where rigidity and runout control are critical. The bright, uncoated finish suits dry cutting or applications where coating adhesion is not required.
This end mill is intended for use in production and job-shop environments where extended reach is needed. The 3-inch length of cut makes it appropriate for deep-pocket milling, long-reach slotting, and profiling passes that a standard-length end mill cannot reach. The right-hand cutting direction and upcut flute geometry are standard for general-purpose vertical milling setups. It is typically installed and run by machinists and CNC operators working with ferrous and non-ferrous metals, plastics, and similar materials.
Designed as a standard single-end square end mill compatible with 3/8-inch collets, end mill holders, and shrink-fit toolholders on CNC machining centers and manual vertical mills.
This tool is installed and operated by machinists and CNC operators. Before changing tooling, confirm the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in an e-stopped or powered-down state. Seat the shank fully and evenly in the collet or holder and torque the retention nut to the toolholder manufacturer specification. Verify runout with a dial indicator before starting a production run, as excessive runout accelerates tool wear and reduces surface finish quality.
