The HARVEY TOOL 56147-C6 is a solid carbide ball end mill engineered for machining high-temperature alloys and other difficult-to-cut materials. With a 3/64 inch (0.0470 inch decimal) mill diameter and a 4-flute, variable helix geometry at 34 degrees, this tool delivers improved chip evacuation and reduced harmonic vibration during aggressive cuts. The AlTiN Nano PVD coating provides thermal resistance and surface hardness, making it well suited for sustained cuts in heat-resistant superalloys. At 2.5 inches overall length with a stub flute configuration and extended reach neck, this end mill balances rigidity with access in confined or deep-feature applications. It is a single-end, right-hand cutting and flute-direction tool with a straight cylindrical 1/8 inch shank.
This end mill is intended for use in high-temp alloy applications (ISO material code S), including nickel-based superalloys, titanium, and similar materials. It is also rated for use in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and hardened materials (ISO codes P, M, K, and H). The long-reach, stub-flute geometry makes it appropriate for moldmaking, aerospace component machining, and precision die work where a small-diameter ball profile must reach into pockets or contoured surfaces without sacrificing tool life. It belongs to the Harvey Tool Variable Helix End Mills for High Temp Alloys series.
Designed for use in high-temperature alloys (ISO S), and also suitable for steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and hardened materials (ISO P, M, K, H). Intended for use in CNC milling machines capable of holding a 1/8 inch straight cylindrical shank with an h6 shank diameter tolerance.
This tool is installed by a machinist or toolroom technician into a compatible CNC milling spindle using an appropriate collet or tool holder rated for 1/8 inch shank diameters. Ensure the spindle is fully powered down and locked before changing tooling. Confirm runout at setup, as small-diameter carbide end mills are sensitive to excessive TIR, which can cause premature breakage. Follow the tool manufacturer's recommended speeds and feeds for the specific workpiece material and do not exceed the rated depth of cut for the stub flute length.
