The HARVEY TOOL 53620-C6 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill engineered for high-performance material removal in demanding machining environments. Measuring 0.5 mm in mill diameter with a 0.1 mm corner radius, this single-end tool features a 3-flute variable helix geometry that reduces chatter and promotes chip evacuation in difficult-to-machine materials. The cutting edges are coated with AlTiN via a PVD process, providing thermal resistance and extended tool life when cutting at elevated temperatures. With a 0.75 inch length of cut and a 2.5 inch overall length on a 1/8 inch straight-cylindrical shank, it fits high-precision toolholders used in close-tolerance work. It is installed by machinists and toolroom professionals working on CNC milling operations.
This end mill is designed for roughing and finishing applications in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and hard alloys, including high-temperature alloys. The variable helix construction reduces harmonic vibration during aggressive cuts, making it suitable for aerospace, die and mold, and precision manufacturing applications. The right-hand cutting direction and right-hand flute spiral are standard for conventional CNC vertical and horizontal milling setups. The center-cutting capability allows plunge entry where the toolpath requires it.
Intended for use with high-precision toolholders. Primary workpiece materials include steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and hard alloys. Part of the Harvey Tool Variable Helix End Mills for High Temp Alloys - Corner Radius series.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists on CNC milling equipment. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe state before loading or unloading the tool. Use a high-precision collet or toolholder appropriate for the 1/8 inch shank diameter to maintain runout tolerances required at this diameter scale. Verify tool projection and stick-out against the programmed toolpath before running the first part.
