The HARVEY TOOL 52250-C6 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill engineered for precision material removal in high-temperature alloys, stainless steel, steel, and cast iron. The tool measures 0.0500 inches in diameter with a 0.0050-inch corner radius and a 0.7500-inch length of cut. A three-flute, variable-helix geometry reduces chatter and promotes smooth chip evacuation during both roughing and finishing operations. The AlTiN (aluminum titanium nitride) PVD coating adds thermal resistance and surface hardness, extending tool life in demanding, heat-generating cuts. Overall length is 1.5 inches with a 0.1250-inch straight cylindrical shank.
This end mill is suited for high-precision machining of steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and hard alloys in applications where tight tolerances and small-diameter cutting are required. The centercutting design allows plunge entry, and the right-hand spiral flute geometry supports conventional and climb milling in CNC machining centers. High-precision toolholders are recommended to maintain runout control at this diameter. It is a single-end, short-length tool appropriate for close-tolerance finishing and light-to-moderate roughing passes in complex part geometries.
Designed for use with high-precision toolholders. Intended for machining steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and hard alloys. Part of the HARVEY TOOL Variable Helix End Mills for High Temp Alloys - Corner Radius series.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by qualified machinists with the spindle fully stopped and machine in a safe, locked-out state. Use a high-precision collet or shrink-fit toolholder to minimize runout at this small diameter. Confirm shank seating depth and clamping torque per the toolholder manufacturer specifications before cutting. At 0.0500 inches diameter, even minor runout or toolholder contamination can cause premature tool failure or dimensional error.
