With a 9/64 inch (0.1406 inch) mill diameter and a 2-inch overall length, this single-end tool is built for miniature and close-tolerance work. The 30-degree right-hand spiral helix and 2-flute geometry support both roughing and finishing passes. A straight cylindrical shank at 3/16 inch diameter ensures secure tool holding in standard collets and chucks. Licensed machinists and CNC operators working on precision components install this tool in vertical machining centers and CNC mills.
The 50909 fits into the Harvey Tool Miniature End Mills - Ball - Stub and Standard series. It is suited for small-feature milling on production and prototype parts in steel, stainless, cast iron, and non-ferrous materials. The 0.2200 inch length of cut (reach length) and bright uncoated finish make it appropriate for general-purpose miniature ball-end operations where coating is not required. Typical applications include profiling, contouring, and finishing of tight-radius features in machined components across aerospace, medical, and general precision manufacturing environments.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard miniature ball end mill for CNC machining centers and manual mills accepting a 3/16 inch straight cylindrical shank. Compatible with primary workpiece materials including steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and non-ferrous metals (material codes P, M, K, N).
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Power down and de-energize the machine spindle completely before inserting or removing the tool from the collet or tool holder. Ensure the collet bore matches the 3/16 inch shank diameter and that runout is within acceptable tolerance before beginning a cut. Do not exceed recommended speeds and feeds for the workpiece material and tool diameter; consult the manufacturer's published machining data for this series.
