The HARVEY TOOL 50320-C3 is a single-end square end mill designed for precise milling operations in ferrous and non-ferrous metals. Built from solid carbide and coated with AlTiN (aluminum titanium nitride), it handles elevated cutting temperatures common in high-speed and hard-material applications. The 5/16-inch diameter cutter features 4 flutes with a 30-degree right-hand helix, producing clean sidewall finishes and efficient chip evacuation. With a 15/32-inch length of cut and 2.5-inch overall length, this tool is suited for slotting, profiling, and peripheral milling where tool rigidity and coating durability matter. Machinists, tool and die makers, and CNC operators are the primary users.
This end mill is appropriate for machining centers and CNC milling machines running ferrous metals, stainless steels, and other materials where heat resistance at the cutting edge is critical. The AlTiN coating extends tool life in dry and semi-dry cutting conditions. The centercutting design allows plunge entry, giving operators flexibility in toolpath programming without requiring a pre-drilled pilot hole. Applications include pocket milling, contouring, and finish passes in both production and job-shop environments.
Designed as an OEM-style solid carbide square end mill compatible with standard 5/16-inch collet chucks, end mill holders, and shrink-fit toolholders used on CNC milling machines and machining centers.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator following the machine tool manufacturer guidelines. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe state before changing tooling. Seat the shank to the recommended engagement depth in the toolholder and torque the collet nut or set screw per the toolholder manufacturer specification. Verify runout with a dial indicator before initiating a cutting program.
