The HARVEY TOOL 50308-C3 is a solid carbide square end mill engineered for high-performance milling in demanding machining environments. With a 0.125-inch cutting diameter and four flutes, it delivers clean, precise cuts in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The AlTiN (Aluminum Titanium Nitride) coating extends tool life by improving heat resistance and reducing friction at the cutting edge. A 30-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. Centercutting geometry allows the tool to plunge directly into workpiece material. This end mill is installed and operated by CNC machinists and tool-and-die professionals working with machining centers and manual mills.
This end mill is suited for slot milling, profiling, and plunge operations in a wide range of materials including steel alloys, stainless steel, aluminum, and hardened materials where an AlTiN coating provides thermal protection. The 3/16-inch length of cut accommodates shallow-to-moderate depth passes, while the 1/8-inch shank diameter fits standard collets and end mill holders sized for that bore. The 1-1/2-inch overall length keeps the tool stiff and minimizes deflection during aggressive cuts. It is a single-end design with right-hand cut and right-hand flute orientation, which is the standard for conventional and climb milling on most CNC platforms.
Designed for use in standard 1/8-inch collets and end mill holders on CNC machining centers and manual milling machines that accept a 1/8-inch shank diameter.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully into a clean, undamaged collet or end mill holder and tighten to the holder manufacturer's specified torque range. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning production cuts to prevent premature tool wear or workpiece damage.
