The HARVEY TOOL 50108 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill engineered for high-performance milling of aluminum alloys as well as steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and composite materials. Built as a single-end tool with a 1/8 inch mill diameter and a 0.005 inch corner radius, it offers a 3/8 inch length of cut and 1-1/2 inch overall length. The variable helix geometry reduces chatter and harmonics during both roughing and finishing passes, making this tool suitable for demanding material removal in production and job-shop environments. Installation is handled by machinists and CNC operators working with precision toolholders.
This end mill is designed for use in CNC machining centers and manual milling machines where tight-tolerance corner geometry is required. The 0.005 inch corner radius reduces stress concentration at the cutting edge, extending tool life in interrupted cuts and slotting operations. The bright uncoated finish is well-suited for aluminum alloys where coating adhesion or aluminum pickup can be a concern. With a straight-cylindrical 1/8 inch shank, it seats directly in standard collets and high-precision toolholders.
Designed for use with high-precision toolholders. Compatible with materials including aluminum, cast iron, steel, stainless steel, wood, and composites. Part of the Harvey Tool Variable Helix End Mills for Aluminum Alloys - Corner Radius series.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool changer or collet is de-energized before inserting or removing the end mill. Use a high-precision toolholder to maintain runout tolerances consistent with the mill diameter tolerance of 0.0000 to -0.0020 inches. Verify collet condition and cleanliness before seating the 1/8 inch shank to avoid tool pullout during cutting.
